64 Ford F-100 Custom Cab
This is just the start. I will
add more photos as work progresses
Here's an overview from the back
Someone stuck a 3/4 ton rear, along with 1 ton springs and helper springs.
The springs went to a neighbor.
Finally ready for the MII kit from Fat Man Fabrications. The trany needs
to come out for the replacement C6.
I've got a lot of work to do on the firewall.
I thought I was ready for the MII kit, until my brother came over to do the
welding. Thought I had the metal to box the frame, well I didn't so of to
blue collar to buy the metal. Get that done then he tells me I had to take
the trany, steering column, clutch linkage, emergency brake cable, and various
other lines out of the way. Needles to say I spent a considerable amount
of time removing this stuff.
Well, once all the stuff was removed we started leveling the frame to prepare to
box in the frame and weld in the cross member. Once it was all level I accidentally
bumped the frame, after a re-check found out it was out of level again. I
had the jack stands extended to far so the frame was a little wobbly. Put
the jack stands on blocks of wood, re-leveled the frame then my brother had to
go. So I still don't have the cross member in yet.
Here is the steering column I removed.
Here's the trany. I have to clean it up and look at the numbers to see
what it is. I will probably get rid of it.
Here we are with the frame boxed and the center line marked.
Finally got the front end out. Talk about hammering, even after using the
torch I had to do a lot of hammering.
The front cross member is finally welded in.
Here's another picture. I still have to have the braces welded and cut the
frame for the tie rods.
